Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
